Pots & container

The questions of all questions. Which shoes should I put on my plants? There is the well-established classic, the Göttinger. A cheap plastic container that is completely closed all around and, as usual, has the holes for ventilation and waste water at the bottom. Plants that have been standing for a long time always form ring roots here, which robs the plant of a lot of energy, as the roots continue to grow in circles.

Another pot is the air pot. Ring root formation is counteracted here from the start. In the Airpot, the roots grow in a star shape from the center of the pot towards the pot wall. There are slits or holes here, which force the root tips to form new ones by cutting off air. More oxygen equals more yield and fewer root zone problems from waterlogging. But that also means that it has to be watered more regularly, which makes the Air-Pot ideal for automatic watering.

The fabric pot now combines the Göttinger and Air-Pot. Ideal water and oxygen supply thanks to the special fabric. Good fabric pots have a water barrier in the side wall. Air and water can enter from the outside, but water cannot escape from the inside to the outside. Air can always flow in both directions.

Scissors & Scalpels
